ITS Brings Urban and Rural Business Parks Back to Life
ITS Technology Group has now helped to revitalise more than ten, digitally deprived urban and rural business parks and centres throughout the UK. Some of the areas that have benefited include Knowsley Business Park, Salmon Fields in Oldham, Sheepsbridge Industrial Estate, Pride Park in Derby, Dagenham, Nostell and Crabtee Hall rural estates.
For many cities, towns and villages business parks and other commercial developments are essential to support the local economy. Roy Shelton, CEO of ITS Technology Group explained, “We have seen examples of businesses looking to relocate out of areas simply because their broadband wasn’t fit for the needs of their business. Many of the urban and rural estates along with regional stakeholders we talk to have a desire to regenerate and transform an area and faster broadband is an essential aspect of this transformation.”
Making do with 2Mbps Service or Less
Many businesses on Knowsley Industrial Park had been putting up and making do with 2Mbps service or less. This was because the Industrial Park’s infrastructure had not been upgraded for decades, and was mostly aluminium wire designed simply for voice calls as a public switched telephone network (PSTN).
Liz McDonough, Systems Analyst at Henry Diaper & Co. Ltd said, “High speed connectivity is now consistent at and the speeds are beyond our expectations. As we now have confidence in the service, we are looking to host our own Internet Ordering System, something that is currently outsourced.”
Crabtree Hall and Nostell Estate wanted a supplier that would act as partner who committed to long term investment in the area. The Nostell Estate’s vision was to create good quality office accommodation and provide employment opportunities in an area decimated by the closure of the coal mines.
Good Quality Broadband was Essential for Today’s Businesses
Nostell Estate Managers Stephen Fuller and Sally Auty said, “Early enquiries revealed that good quality broadband was essential for today’s businesses, in a rural area this was initially impossible. We investigated using BT as an option and although there was some infrastructure relatively nearby the cost to bring that to the premises was excessive. ITS now provide cost effective highspeed broadband and VOIP services to the tenant companies over a fibre optical network.”
Crabtree Hall owner Mark Pybus said, “ITS have provided a great service to our business and residential clients for the past 18 months and we are now delighted to extend that service for a further three years. The ability to be able to offer fast, robust and cost effective services to our tenants and the local community is vital to the long term viability of the area.”
ITS Technology Group as an alternative network builder and ISP have built over 21 dedicated fibre, fixed wireless and hybrid networks. ITS will continue to improve connectivity to digitally excluded business developments by offering fairly priced and technology agnostic business class services.
