Meet the Team - Paula Hair, Project Support Officer
This month, Paula Hair shares a typical working day, how her role has developed, what she does at ITS and reveals a few unknown facts about herself.
How do you get the day started?
Chaotically! I have three children that have to get up and out to school and a Labrador that wants a walk. Somewhere in between this I’ll find the time for a cup of tea.
What is your role? How has it changed over time?
I originally started at ITS to assist with office administration and courtesy calling all our new BDUK installations. ITS have delivered over 400 new business connections through the Government voucher scheme and my role helped provide a point of contact for these new customers. I also help refer any service related questions or issues to the correct departments. As time has progressed my skill set and understanding of all things ITS has grown exponentially. I now enjoy a permanent position working alongside a fantastic team in the Operations division as a Project Support Officer.
What does your role entail?
In the PSO Team there are many daily administrative and customer service duties that need attention to keep Operations running smoothly. Such as booking appointments for our engineers to attend field visits (working alongside our Technical Support and Service Desk), ordering and chasing orders for projects that are currently being worked on (project co-ordination working alongside our Project Managers). I still have a lot to learn but I’m enjoying every minute of it.
What do like best about your role?
Every day provides new challenges with new skills to learn but I relish the opportunity of doing this whilst aiming to provide all our customers and associates with an excellent level of customer service.
Tell us something we would not know about you?
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science and in my spare time I help organise and inform all the parents of upcoming fixtures for my sons’ local rugby team. Go Oilers!
