ITS Shortlisted as The Broadband Pioneer at the International World Communication Awards
We are delighted to announce that ITS was shortlisted as The Broadband Pioneer at this year’s World Communication Awards. ITS was recognised for their Knowsley FWA network which has made a significant contribution to the efficiency of local businesses.
Until June 2015 no one on Knowsley Business Park had any type of robust broadband. Some of the businesses were running on 2Mbps. ITS’s high speed services have vastly improved their ability to utilise hosted services and speed up their business communications.
Roy Shelton, Chief Executive Officer of ITS said, “We are honoured and delighted to be recognised for the contribution we have made to the local economy in Knowsley. Not only does our network support local businesses that have been under serviced for many years, it has also helped to bridge the social digital divide by enabling a local housing association to provide free access to online services for their tenants. This area was overlooked for many years due to the lack of investment by other service providers.”
Lesley Martin-Wright, Chief Executive, Knowsley Chamber / Head of the Knowsley Growth Hub commented, “As CEO my aim was simple, to ensure that businesses had access to digital provision that would enhance their capabilities, competitiveness, help realise their economic potential, and ultimately grow.
ITS’s proposition was keen and simple, and they were prepared to work with us to improve the digital landscape for businesses through an offer that was cost effective, highly competitive, and based on commercially attractive terms for the end user. Today this ‘features and benefits’ approach has vastly improved the digital landscape.”
Roy Shelton concluded, “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Knowsley Chamber for their contribution and support in this project as well as the local community and partners that helped make it happen. It is a triumph for ITS.”
