Wireless microwave and fibre connectivity provider Luminet, has signed a wholesale agreement with full fibre provider ITS Technology Group (ITS), allowing it to access fully diverse infrastructure to complement its own gigabit capable wireless services. The agreement will focus on ITS’ Faster Britain West London network initially.
Luminet has been providing connectivity throughout London for well over a decade having launched the capital’s first microwave wireless network covering 400sqkm in 2006. Boasting an industry-leading 10-day leadtime, Luminet specialises in its own wireless services to both businesses and residential customers, as well as connecting fibre through wholesale partners. It also has an indirect channel selling connectivity via its partner network.
ITS’ West London Faster Britain full fibre network creates an attractive alternative high speed network for Luminet’s customers and partners. Like Luminet, ITS is capable of connecting customers far quicker than the industry norm thanks to its reuse, or ‘dig once’ approach which avoids disruptive road digs and road works.
William Linard, Head of Sales at Luminet said: “Demand for resilient high-speed connectivity is on the rise as businesses continue to migrate to the cloud. This trend has created an appetite for fully diverse networks as customers want 100 percent uptime to ensure business continuity. ITS’ contended product is also attractive to businesses and residents that want many of the benefits of a dedicated fibre without the price tag, particularly as there isn’t a superfast network in London. ITS’ dig once approach plays neatly into our own mission to be able to offer customers rapid install leadtimes with minimum disruption. We are looking forward to working with ITS to deliver gigabit capable connectivity across West London.”
Philip Lee, Head of Wholesale at ITS said: “We are delighted to have signed this wholesale agreement with Luminet. There are many parallels between our businesses, creating a powerful offer for business and residential customers across West London to benefit from industry leading connection times, and all that high quality gigabit capable connectivity has to offer. We have invested heavily in our Faster Britain network to create a significant footprint in the area, and which also continues to grow at pace across the UK.”
ITS’ Faster Britain network build continues at pace across the capital having recently expanded into Park Royal, Kensington as well as Greenwich and Woolwich. Specifically, the West London full fibre network currently covers Hammersmith, Fulham, Chelsea, Kensington, Acton, Waltham Green, Park Royal and Harlesden, with further locations in the area to be launched soon. ITS has also recently launched an all-new partner portal including an API to integrate with its partners’ own back-end systems, making it even easier for them to sell connectivity services to their customers.
