Containerships Ltd Oy is a leading, long established door-to-door (by sea; by road; by rail) container transport company that operates 14 container vessels, including 1A ice-classed vessels, between Russia and the Baltic, Europe, UK, Ireland, as well as between North Africa and the Michael Colledge Mediterranean. When they relocated their UK operation in early 2010 to the Wilton Centre, one of the UK’s leading science and business parks, situated near Redcar, they needed hands-on IT support.
With a large estate of networked desktop and laptop computers and several critical service servers on-site running a myriad of software applications, Containerships needed practical hands-on support but could not justify a dedicated internal IT support person. The cost effective solution was to contract out the provision to ITS Technology Group, as many companies are now increasingly doing.
Already supporting a large number of the 60 or so multi-national businesses and innovative SME tenants operating from the Wilton Centre, along with many other national and international customers, ITS Technology Group was an obvious choice. ITS also has access to a number of ‘dark’ optical fibre networks including the one at the Wilton Centre linking it to the outside world plus it maintains a key IT support office on-site which ensures all call-outs for clients are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

In addition to obtaining a first class local support service from ITS Technology Group, Containerships also has its own IT support department based in Lithuania (BITS Helpdesk) that overseas many of its pan-European monthly server software upgrades and general system maintenance requirements.
